Cardiff Sandringham Hotel

Very good

Liked: Very very central, near the bus and train stations and many restaurants, the castle, and the arcades. Friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Reception is up a short flight of stairs, and there was no wait to enter the building.
Disliked: There is no lift so be ready to carry bags upstairs. Rooms facing the street will naturally be noisy, even with the double set of windows. Great value however!

Disliked: The shower was freezing

Very dated room and hotel,...

Liked: Very central to Cardiff city centre, staff very friendly, water in room and Welsh cakes, bed comfortable. Offered us complimentary breakfast. Had hair dryer in room, decent size.
Disliked: Up steep staires to hotel, room very dated, no fridge in room, had to hand in key to reception when you left the hotel. Our room overlooked the main street, extremely noisy, as poor glazing. Husband came back with some bites.

A few days away

Liked: Couldn't have picked a better location, we came down for a gig at the stadium and shopping centre, both only a few mins walk from the hotel. Plus best price. Parking was also a few mins walk. Reception staff were lovely, had a good chat each time I came in and out.
Disliked: A bit hard with stairs to hotel and rooms but I managed. Plus taps to bath and shower were very awkward, i got soaked trying to turn shower on, gave us a laugh and we never bothered attempting it a 2nd time.
