Staff was friendly and helpful. Family owned but well run. Very pleasant; clean and personable and the restaurant in front was wonderful too!

Disliked: Nothing comes to mind. I really appreciate the buzzer in at night with a staff member on-site.

Disliked: Uncomfortable beds. Not enough parking. Small bathroom. No hooks in bathroom. Dated. Not comfortable for sitting and hanging in room.

Liked: The staff was excellent, from the time I checked in to the time I checked out. They were there to help and show me whatever I needed them to show me like where additional parking was.

Disliked: Beds were very uncomfortable, there was really no hot water, and needs some updating. Definitely paid for a hotel that I would of hoped to be nicer.

Best hotel on the East...

Liked: Most amazing and friendly staff I've ever met staying anywhere! The room was very cozy and homey compared to the typical big name hotels and that was one of the things we appreciated most. The Capes Hotel felt uniquely like its own special place. No other hotel is worth staying at in VA beach but the Capes Hotel!
Disliked: Not a thing to dislike.

A great place to stay-friendly...

Liked: Right on the ocean, beach, boardwalk! Ample parking, genuine people at front desk! Great attached restaurant with patio seating! Our room had a little kitchenette type counter with a small sink, fridge and microwave! Great tv with lots of channels! We had a walk out deck instead of balcony because we were on the 1st floor.
Disliked: The mattress (although comfortable) sat on metal making it noisey when moving in bed. This is an older property and it shows somewhat, but everything was workable in the room which was clean ! The railing and door to the deck could use some paint! Indoor pool was a nice size!

Liked: The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was very spacious and the hot tub in the room was awesome. I highly recommend the king suite with the spa bath. You have a city view and an Oceanview.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn't like.
