Comfy stay in an excellent...

Liked: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged a parking permit very easily and quickly allowing us to stay in one of 9 car parks around Canterbury. £13.50 for 24 hours- a good price to be in a city like Canterbury. The room was one of the best equipped we’ve stayed in for a long time ( we stay away every 4-5 weeks for respite) There was an ironing board and iron, the usual tea and coffees plus herbal teas( unusual), biscuits (some hotels have stopped these) flannels as well as towels ( never had in a hotel), a large shower ( quite rare too). The breakfast was excellent, waiter service, so freshly cooked. The beds were very comfortable. A good size room with 2 comfy chairs and a chair/desk. The window had secondary glazing which meant it was very quiet if both windows were closed. Would definitely stay again.
Disliked: We loved staying here so am being really picky just to give details that may help others in booking. I prefer on-site parking in a hotel but this is almost impossible if you want to be in the actual centre so there’s not much they can do to change this. We stayed in a room that was in another building with 40 steps which was not ideal. However, we were warned of this though so expected it. Next time we would try to get in the main hotel ( it was fully booked due to a wedding). We overlooked the High Street so had some drunk people shouting late at night and it was the hottest day so far so needed the window open. Maybe a fan could be provided for these rooms so that the window can be kept closed. In our room a short person must have fitted the mirror and glass shelf which were far too low.
