Liked: Location
Disliked: as soon as you walked in, all you could smell was mildew

Poor

It was not very restful...

Liked: It was close to hwy and restaurants
Disliked: Their was a horrible smell in the room. I had to keep spraying air fresheners. The bed really needs to be replaced. When I checked after telling all of this to the desk clerk she didn’t say ok I will get this addressed or anything. I didn’t ask to switch rooms because that had us on the 1st floor and I didn’t want that and he said not sure I we have any other rooms, but then he gave us the room on the second floor.

Clean, convenient, everything I needed.

Liked: Clean. Smelled nice, freshly clean. It is terrible when you stay in a room that hasn’t been used in a while. Smells terrible.
Disliked: Nothing to complain.

Stayed for a travel tournament...

Liked: It felt like home.. staff was great.. would definitely come back again
Disliked: Can’t say anything bad.. even the guest were nice.!

Horrible place to stay

Liked: It is within walking distance of the hospital
Disliked: There were roaches in my room and blood on the floor under the bathroom sink. The elevator and the room also smelled like a dog.

My unstay at Candlewood Suites...

Liked: As for the location, South of the hotel off of hwy 45 did not look bad, but when we exited 45 we were in the hood and it was quite scary. We drove all over looking for some apple juice for my daughter to be able to take bed time medications. That was the one and only thing good about the hotel. They did sell apple juice. They did not have breakfast, only coffee, but as dirty as they were, I wouldn't have eaten there anyway. :(
Disliked: This hotel was so bad that I slept in my car even though I paid to sleep in a hotel. The location was right next to MD Anderson's Cancer Center, therefore you would think the hotel would have been good, but it was not. The carpet was dirty, and smelled bad. The elevator sounded like it was going to brake, and it had carved graffiti on the walls and controls. The entire place was hot and stuffy. The ac never cooled the room down. Our room was a queen studio suite, however the bed was a twin size at best. I couldn't breath with the heat and the smells. There was no way in that heat two people could have slept on that bed. My daughter stayed in the room although she said it was hot all night and that she did not sleep well. I slept in my car the entire night. Very disappointed.
