Shockingly bad

Disliked: Hotel phoned 1 hour before I was due to check in to say there had been a gas leak and they had transferred me to Skye Oceans Hotel so instead of being 6mins walk from the Winter Gardens I was now 26mins walk. I was staying from Thursday to Monday and had no hot water all weekend at Skye Oceans and no water at all on Monday morning. Owner of Canasta appears to also be the owner of Skye Oceans. I went to Canasta on Saturday morning to see if it was now open and I could transfer back to it but there were workmen doing a rewire of the property who said they had been there 2 weeks so there was no gas leak. Owner of Canasta just didn’t want to give people this information early as they could then cancel their booking and move to another hotel.

AVOID!! Hotel has been shut...

Disliked: The hotel isn't even open. It was closed down by the council weeks ago. Even though this hotel has been shut down, it is still taking bookings and people's money. We arrived at the Canasta hotel on the 9th of August to find it shut down. Three other groups of guests arrived whilst we were outside, and no one knew what was going on. We managed to call someone and were told we'd all apparently been contacted to inform us we were now booked into the Skye Ocean Hotel, which is on the opposite end of Blackpool. We had never received any such communication, and neither had any of the other people from the three groups either. We tried calling booking.com and explained our situation. The customer service was appalling, and they kept either leaving us on hold or just hanging up on us. We tried calling the other hotel we'd supposedly been transferred to, and noone would answer the phone. We were there waiting outside the closed hotel for over an hour trying to get this resolved and find out what on earth was going on. Eventually we got through to Skye Ocean Hotel and were told we all had rooms waiting for us. We drove down to the other hotel which took 20 minutes in the air show traffic with road closures. The hotel we had been given was absolutely shambolic and needs closing down. The room was like a grotty bedsit. The toilet didnt work, the tv didnt work, wifi didnt work, windows and doors were broken. The hotel has no hot water whatsoever in any of the rooms. We had to have cold showers all weekend. When we complained we were just told the hot water was on even though it wasn't. Then he changed his story to say the hot water is only put on between 6.30am to 8am daily. I tried to have a shower at 6.45am and still no hot water. We discovered that nothing in the hotel had been PAT tested since 2018. I could go on and on about all the things wrong with this hotel, but I'd be here all day.

the hotel was shut when...

Disliked: Hello the hotel was shut when we arrived it’s has been condemned by the local council, they sent us to another hotel, Skye ocean hotel, which has been shut for months, it’s absolutely filthy, not water disgusting, l want a full refund, the hotel is still available for bookings on booking.com and it’s not even open, you should be ashamed of your business!!!!!!!!!lI have pictures of the Skye oceans hotel.

Disliked: We booked the canasta but was transferred to a sister hotels, sunny days hotel. Hotel maintenance was extremely poor, bathroom was not clean. Hotel facilities, I only saw the bar open once had one game of pool but table wasn't accepting coins.For most of our stay the door was locked when kids wanted to play pool and couldn't because of this. Staff nowhere to be seen.
