Campanile Lens

Perfectly OK for short stays,...

Liked: The Camapanile format is basically a motel. This one is located near main roads which makes it handy for either visiting Lens or overnighting during travel. There was no real noise from traffic, on the other hand. So we got a good sleep.The breakfast was great with lots of fresh fruit, bread and cereal. Overall, a good stay and I'd certainly stay again.
Disliked: Like other hotels I have been to, there was no liquor available at the bar at night, which was a disappointment after a very cold day. The rooms could also be spruced up a bit.

Liked: Fab stay . Just over an hour from the tunnel. Great breakfast.

Not that great!

Liked: Plenty of secure, free parking. Reasonable amount of storage space in the room.
Disliked: It's a bit in the middle of nowhere. Our room was only made up once in three days. The breakfast was chaos (although I had sympathy for the guy who was single handedly trying to keep everything in order). The bed wasn't very comfortable. Poor soundproofing between rooms. The room was pretty cold (in late Jan/early Feb) and the radiator was not very easy to use.

Good place to stop for...

Liked: Good location, clean and comfortable but no restaurant anymore and no bar
Disliked: No bar, no restaurant. Difficult to locate

Cheap enough and adequate for...

Liked: Cheap, easy for onward tunnel journey, parking secure and electric charge points.
Disliked: The staff! Very brusque and dis interested - the morning receptionist in particular was basically downright rude to a number of guests! Restaurant was not open even though it was advertised as being so.Room heating difficult to control.

surprisingly a nightmare

Liked: The location is convenient, next to shoppings and the motorway. The site is beautiful, with lots of trees and nice view from the second floor. No noise from the motorway and quiet site too.
Disliked: The site was secure with a closed gate on our late arrival, but the gate was open after a phone call with no further checking. We stayed in an updated room bit it had a dirty loo and the mattress and bed were really old and past using conditions.... the breakfast was also very poor on quality and variety fro the price we've paid (overpaid). we have spotted mold in the cheese and asked it to be changed but the employee just cut it out!We've been dissatisfied with the facilities and services, considering our stay in other Campanile Hotels in the past.

Disliked: Night receptionist was horrible even I sent many message on the booking.com, He never answered.In addition I told him to prepare bill in the morning to do not loose the time . He did not and he did not inform his collegue about that. (The blonde guy) . Romain was Ok.

Liked: Very secure
Disliked: Bit run down but was clean
