Affordable Comfort Near Basildon's Music Scene

Modern, no-frills hotel in Essex, just 1.5 miles from Basildon town centre and train station. The Campanile Hotel - Basildon - East of London offers budget-friendly rooms, a traditional on-site restaurant, and free Wi-Fi throughout—perfect for concert-goers who want a simple base close to the action.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is just a short taxi or drive from local music venues and Basildon Train Station, which offers direct services to London for those catching bigger shows. The area is quiet enough for a good night’s sleep after a loud gig, and with 24-hour reception and flexible check-in from 14:00, it’s great for late arrivals.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends splitting a room and saving cash
  • Solo travelers looking for a secure, simple stay
  • Couples planning a weekend around a concert
  • Fans needing a quiet crash pad after the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who’d rather spend on merch than a room

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves up hearty breakfasts and international fare in the evening, ideal for pre-show fuelling or post-concert cravings. While there’s no 24/7 room service, late-night options are nearby in Basildon centre. Tea and coffee facilities in every room are a bonus for the morning after.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t have a bar or live music, it’s just a short ride to Basildon’s pubs and lounges. If you're heading into London for a gig, the quick train link opens up the capital's legendary nightlife scene.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s free parking, friendly staff, and easy access to the train station. Many mention it's a solid choice for a short, affordable stay near concerts and events. The Wi-Fi and clean rooms also get frequent praise.

Areas for Improvement

The décor and facilities are a bit dated, and some guests mention the walls aren’t the most soundproof—so pack earplugs just in case. It’s not luxury, but it gets the job done for a music-fueled weekend.

The Bottom Line

The Campanile Hotel - Basildon - East of London is a smart, budget-friendly base for concert-goers who want comfort and convenience without breaking the bank.

Passable

Liked: It was ok, staff were pleasant enough. Beds were comfy
Disliked: Room boiling in august, can't open windows properly so ended up constantly opening the door for air but then you get smoked out because everyone staying there seems to need a fag every ten minutes. Room was functional and wasn't very expensive. I won't moan about the road as we knew it was by a main dual carriageway.

Cheap, very basic, going back...

Liked: The room was clean and comfortable. However, they have rooms that are on long leases. Next to my room had a revolving front door with people coming and going all day and night. Glad I had ear plugs. When the door was open, the strong waft of green came flooding out. It was clear they were dealing and selling drugs there. With the place surrounded by other young families with children, was not a good look. Also, you have to watch your step wherever you walk.Dinner was quickly decided on another venue after seeing the Chef have a smoke then prepare food without washing hands. This is purely what I noticed. The lady at reception was very nonchalant after raising the copious amount of weed being consumed. God forbid if someone suffered from Asthma or similar.

Very good

Liked: It was with in walking distance of a small retail park that had a lot of options for eating out. I liked the fact the hotel was surrounded by trees..
Disliked: An extra arm chair in the room.
