Cambridge Suites Hotel Halifax

Liked: Room.
Disliked: Breakfast was confusing, when the hot free buffet ends and when the pay menu begins.

We ha a great stay and the service was good!

Liked: Location was perfect to attend a concert at the Metro Centre.
Disliked: One elevator was out of service and it was a busy spot so there was always a wait for the elevators!

Disliked: No notice on website or via email that the street leading to the hotel was closed due to a major construction project. The front staff lady said to use the underground parking garage on Market Street and come in that way, but was unable to say how to get to Market in the jumble of construction and one way streets, so just getting to the hotel at night in a driving rain was harrowing. The hotel furnishings are worn and in need of replacement. The front lobby was undergoing renovation so directional signs were missing and hallways were quite narrow. Carpets had areas where strings had been pulled and were fraying, armchairs were missing finishes or had worn fabric. Bathroom lighting was very dim.

Great stay in Halifax

Liked: Great location in Halifax, walkable to restaurants and waterfront. Our room was very nice with a view towards the harbor (note, we were unexpectedly upgraded to a king suite!). The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast buffet was above average for a hotel.
Disliked: Nothing

The Day of 'the incident'!

Liked: The familiarity. We always stay here! We were given excellent advice re evening meals from a very attractive young man in the bar /dining area. Our food was superb! Breakfast too was as good as ever. Thank you.
Disliked: That hideous "painting" in the lobby - it's on the wall to the left of the entrance.We arrived shortly after the commotion involving a pick-up that had reversed and had shot right into the lobby! We had to haul our stuff in through side doors. No problem, just glad that there were no serious injuries - or worse....!

Great city centre hotel -...

Liked: Great sized rooms in a great location for visiting Halifax. Having breakfast included was a nice bonus. Friendly helpful staff
Disliked: Lifts to the car park seemed a little erratic and seemed to give preference to the ‘room’ floors which was a little frustrating when trying to leave
