Was staying at hotel and was informed about the fact that the hotel is no smoking, but there were no signs posted anywhere. I was threatened with police action against me if I did not pay a $250.00 fine that I was also unaware of.

Good except for room service.

Disliked: Breakfast in the room was terrible. The food was properly prepared and tasty but my poached egg came alone in a box!!! No plate! How was I to eat! My husband’s food was shoved into a box too. Worst room service presentation I have ever experienced! Eating it was no fun. Plastic silver which I hate.

Liked: Very old hotel, first room was dirty on the wall was blood or something like that, we switched the room and other room wasn’t clean as well, in the washroom was hair from other people, so we are not happy with this experience, very disappointed

Liked: The location was excellent for our needs. The airport transit bus was just across the road by Calgary Tower. The room was a good size, bed comfortable, and bathroom a good size.
Disliked: Nothing negative.

Liked: Location is great. Room is big.Clean bathrooms. Marriott comfort still here. Starbucks at the LG. Perfect.
Disliked: A bit pricey. Lacking valet staff

Disliked: Parking. I was there running the Calgary marathon and walking to the parade to park and retrieve my own vehicle was very inconvenient, especially at checkout to have to walk (legs were very sore from race) and get my vehicle to come back to pick up my luggage. As a solo guest it was very difficult and uncomfortable to be walking around downtown alone into a parkade trying to navigate and feeling unsafe at times because of the homeless situation around the area. Previous years I have stayed at this location and received complimentary valet parking as a race participant, I did not receive that this year and disappointed with my 2 night stay because of the cost and inconvenience
