There’s a reason you don’t...
Liked: The property itself is sprawling and very beautiful. Gorgeous wedding venue and food was very good. Pool is beautiful and there are nice comfy chairs. Staff is nice and very pleasant! Coffee, water and tea in the lobby at all times. Beach club makes up for the remote location. Accommodated a late checkout.
Disliked: This is a very nice property, but I would hesitate to say it’s five stars and it’s incredibly overpriced. It’s trying to be at this level and is getting close, but a lot of the details are missing. There’s a lack of communication between events team and hotel, which seem to be separate businesses entirely. Trying to get info on exact location of the wedding I was attending was laughable, the front desk couldn’t tell me and even when they did, their was a lack of certainty (I.e. “most weddings are here on the map, it is likely in this spot”). There was also no group rate and if they had even offered 30% off, they probably would have been full capacity, but at those rates, there were no wedding attendees staying at the property. I called ahead multiple times just to make sure I could get the room with enough time to change for the wedding, one staff member told me that the property would be practically empty, so no problem. We did arrive quite early and were told the room was in final inspection; room was actually ready 3.5 hours later. It was more of a communication issue that was frustrating. Some other examples: they are kind to bring a thermos of coffee in the morning, but no mugs. The only glassware in the room were 2 wine glasses and espresso cups. There’s an outdoor shower, but no hooks or a table. These are very small things, but the type of detail you should not have to notice at this price. There were few guests at the property, but no one called you by name. The cottage itself is cute and decorated well, but there was only a window in the bathroom, so the bedroom portion was incredibly dark. The marble floors and tub were so cold (no heated floors), the bath is stunning but the frigid marble actually made scalding water turn cold. There were also amenities from three different brands, though we loved the full size flamingo estate products.Valet for $30 at these rates is tasteless. If this property was 1/2-2/3 of the price, less issue.

We had a relaxing stay...
Liked: The ranch grounds are beautiful and amenities like the heated pools and hot tubs were great. Dinner and room service options were delicious. Free room snacks and beverages were delightful. Room service staff had a birthday candle on request to help us celebrate.
Disliked: Falling Oaks Cottage room mini split air conditioner could take a while to get to the set temperature. Bathroom showerhead needs maintenance (hard water build up causing water to spray inconsistently). Water station in gym was out of order.

The property is stunning and...
Liked: The vastness of the acres of oak trees, beautiful pathways leading to multiple adventures and swimming pools. There’s the beach club that is extra special part. Food is terrific and vibes are very mellow and laid back.
Disliked: Everything is perfect!

I would not recommend.
Liked: The grounds are very nice.
Disliked: The pool area near my room was not kept up well. In the afternoon, there were only dirty towels -- nothing clean to use. The room itself was fine but broken outlets and worn furniture. Not what I expected for this sort of resort. I ordered food at the pool -- a hamburger -- and the roll/bun was hard and stale. Surprising.
