Liked: Different kitchen and bathroom, nice private room (dorms too if it’s for few nights). Good location to be near central but a bit far from the esplanade
Disliked: If you want to party or stay up late, not the best place to go as you have to be quiet around 10pm. But still good to relax!

Disliked: There was no airport pickup There was no pub vouchersThere was no restraunt The reception took it upon herself to book my room and checkout for me,without asking me for the dates Kitchen bins were always over spilling,Toilets are unisex no proper sanitary bin in them for tampons,tampons and pads spilling out of little bins,Food in sink,dishes left in rackBread knives and sharp meat knives in each kitchen anyone could is eas a weapon if they were drunk,knives don't get locked away,whole place is a fire hazard,safety exist sign needs to be updated,water in showers smell septic,no handrails in showers no slipats in showers,no seperate toilets for male and females,can look over the top of each toilet cubicle,stairs going up to the rooms are old wooden stairs with no handrails and there's no grip on the stairs,wooden planks on decking some are loose,around the hostel there are nails sticking out of the ground,loose brick pavement and unleveled can cause serious falls trips,The lady in reception just thinks she has the right to open your bedroom door without knocking and come in with no warning,and won't hesitate to tell you not to trot off to have breakfast,she's very rude disrespectful and inconsiderate Shower tank in room is dirty and the water smells,pipes make a loud noise,taps aren't on properly,and shower head isn't on properly turns upside down

Liked: Basic for short stay, decent location not being too far away from central cairns
Disliked: Slight misunderstanding about the room as was described as having a private bathroom however when got there there was only an individual shower in the room no toilet, so had to use a shared one the other end of the hostel. Also, lots of bugs in the room and in surrounding areas in addition to a smell each time entering the room (damp mould smell) that had to be gotten rid of with air con.
