Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel is housed in a former Scottish shooting lodge offering stunning views of the Northern Corries. Located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park it is 7 miles from Aviemore and just 2 miles from the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular and snowsports area. This 72-bed youth hostel provides great facilities including a good range of dorms and private rooms a well-equipped self-catering kitchen bike storage a drying room and WiFI. Cooked breakfasts packed lunches and full evening meals are also available. Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel is popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Most activities take place on the Rothiemurchus Estate which offers paths through Caledonian Pine forest. The Loch Morlich Watersports Center and a large beach are opposite the youth hostel. You can also visit the Reindeer Center. Dogs are now welcome at Cairngorm Lodge when guests book a private room. A small fee of GBP 5 per dog per night will be charged. Please note that all dogs must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.

Liked: The location is superb, really close to lake morlich and in the heart of Glenmore. The room is very comfortable. Each bed is equipped with its own socket.

A great, well equipped hostel...

Liked: Really friendly, clean and comfortable. The staff were particularly helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Cosy, warm, calm.

Liked: Nice, warm hostel. It was raining outside, windy and cold. The hostel was cozy and warm. There is a kitchen with everything you need. A dining room where you can leisurely eat and socialize. Our room was ready in advance and we settled in straight away. Thank you.
Disliked: I just didn't like the weather...

I wish I could have...

Liked: Beautiful palace, clean, comfortable, friendly
Disliked: Slow wifi (couldn't do video calls/work if needed, but fine for all else), and the kitchen could have used some salt. These few little details would have made it better, but this place was overall amazing!
