Hotel Description
Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel is housed in a former Scottish shooting lodge offering stunning views of the Northern Corries. Located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park it is 7 miles from Aviemore and just 2 miles from the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular and snowsports area. This 72-bed youth hostel provides great facilities including a good range of dorms and private rooms a well-equipped self-catering kitchen bike storage a drying room and WiFI. Cooked breakfasts packed lunches and full evening meals are also available. Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel is popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Most activities take place on the Rothiemurchus Estate which offers paths through Caledonian Pine forest. The Loch Morlich Watersports Center and a large beach are opposite the youth hostel. You can also visit the Reindeer Center. Dogs are now welcome at Cairngorm Lodge when guests book a private room. A small fee of GBP 5 per dog per night will be charged. Please note that all dogs must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.

Great hostel in a perfect...

Liked: Loved this hostel - it's quiet, the rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen and dining area are spacious enough. The location is the best part, right next to the bus stop, and moments away from hiking trails.

My new favorite hostel!

Liked: Spacious, clean, and comfortable. This hostel had it all. Spotless private bathrooms and showers. Bunks with outlets nearby to charge electric devices. A lounge, a reading room, two dining areas, an onsite cafe, laundry, and drying room. Plus an incredible mountain hiking trail and a loch just minutes away. Highly recommend and would return. :)

Fantastic base for solo travelling

Liked: The view and location is amazing! Bus stop right outside, which is so handy. The staff were all super lovely and helpful. The self-catering kitchen is well equipped and dinning area was big, actually all the common areas and rooms were good sizes, clean and nice to chill in.
Disliked: With most hostels in any older building your going to have creaking floors and banging doors, so unfortunately you can hear people pottering about.
