Lovely hotel, but staff need...
Liked: The room we had was quiet and peaceful at the side of the hotel, the bed was super comfy and everywhere was clean
Disliked: I had originally been in touch with the hotel and was assured we were in a ground floor room, when we arrived we were told there isn’t any ground floor rooms and we were on the first floor and there’s no lift, I had a knee issue so wasn’t happy about this but couldn’t do anything at last minute I pointed this out and was just told they were sorry, the rooms are a little dated but very clean, breakfast was lovely and some of the staff were friendly

Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, comfy...
Liked: Staff were all really nice, the breakfast was also really really. nice with generous portions and good coffee. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and is right opposite the station. Rooms were clean and well furnished.
Disliked: We couldn't get early check in which was a bit inconvenient because we had a wedding that started at 2 (whereas check-in was at 3) so it was a bit awkward negotiating that. There's nowhere secure to store luggage so we had to leave ours in the lobby by the front door for a few hours which felt a bit risky but was fine. The shower in our room was a bit tricky to use and kept going cold but the pressure was good!

Avoid Avoid Avoid
Liked: Breakfast was good and beer in the bar was nice
Disliked: We were placed into a room above an extremely loud wedding party on a Wednesday night. 2.5 hours of trying to move rooms with completely unapologetic, and unsympathetic staff. They placed us above the live music in the bar instead. Which was better but was a smaller room, and staff denied any compensation from changing from the larger king room. Absolutely no apologies at any point. The only option the management provided for a refund or compensation was to leave the hotel completely. This was at 10pm at night. Genuinely After a long day, all we wanted was to relax. Instead, our "peaceful" night began with a relentless, drum-heavy assault from a wedding party directly below our room—on a Wednesday night, no less. What followed was a maddening, 2.5-hour saga of stress and utter disbelief. We trekked to the reception repeatedly, our exhaustion mounting with every trip, only to be met with a complete and total lack of empathy. Not a single staff member offered an apology. We were just pawns in a bureaucratic game. The only solution they could muster was to move us from one noise trap to another: from the wedding to the live bar music, and into a smaller room, to boot. All of this for no compensation and not even a simple "sorry." Their final, baffling offer was to kick us out at 10 p.m., as if abandoning a hotel room in the middle of the night was a reasonable solution. We booked a hotel, not a nightclub, and the fact that no one seemed to understand that—or even care—was the ultimate insult. The promise of a call from management, who was supposedly at the wedding and never called, felt like a final, cruel joke. This wasn't just bad customer service; it was a masterclass in how to dehumanise and frustrate a guest to their breaking point. I am chasing compensation.
