Cairndale Hotel is situated right in the very heart of Dumfries. DG One leisure club is less than a minute's walk away and Odeon cinema and the Theatre Royal can be reached in 5 minutes on foot. The hotel offers 91 en suite rooms and suites free car parking and free Wi-Fi wireless internet access. Its leisure facilities include a heated swimming pool a sauna steam room and an air-conditioned gym. Fine dining and an à la carte dinner menu is available in the restaurant every night and all-day service is available until 22:00 in the Forum Cafe Bar. Disliked: Cramped rooms. Curtains don’t close. Bad breakfast. Faulty Fire alarm went off numerous times during night. No apology or refund.

Liked: Location was perfect
Disliked: The spa access is not included in the room price which was very disappointing. Access to the spa was 100 pounds more and only for a selected amount of time. We hadn’t booked dinner in advance and there was no tables for us when we came to eat The bedrooms require a bit more TLC and refurbishment

Disappointed with the hotel

Liked: Room was a bit shabby, and very cold despite the heating being on. Bathroom was poor - 1 small bottle of shower gel for 2 people for 3 nights. No shelf in the shower to put gel or shampoo.No step-free route to the car park! No access to the car park from inside the hotel
