Caddon View Country Guest House

Liked: A nice location and a close walk to the centre of Innerleithen.The room, for a single person was warm, quiet and comfortable, not large but ample. The adjoining shower room was quite large with an excellent shower.The cooked breakfast on both days was excellent, hot and of a good quality, however the coffee could have been hotter.
Disliked: Unfortunately my stay was spoilt by the backing up of the toilet due to an external blockage on the first morning. The hosts did deal with this quite swiftly, however it did make me feel a little apprehensive about using the WC afterwards.I understand such things do happen but it would have been nice to have been offered an alternative room (if availability) or even a discount on the payment.A small point is that a drink and homemade cake was advertised on arrival but wasn't offeredIt is purely for the reasons above that some of my ratings were low. If it hadn't been for these issues, which may have warranted lower ratings, I would have rated Caddon View highly.

Recommend a stay at Caddon...

Liked: This was a lovely guesthouse with delightful hosts. My single room was very comfortable, there was an attractive lounge, and a small cafe attached. A delicious breakfast. Innerleithen (staying there on way to visit friends) would be a lovely holiday destination - an interesting small town with lots of shops and gift shops to explore, local walks, cycle hire, lovely restaurant at the Traquair Arms. A highlight for me was a visit to Kailzie Gardens just a 10 minute drive. This has an amazing walled garden (17ft high walls) with herbaceous borders, glasshouses, a flower cutting garden, veggie garden and wonderful arboretum for walks and picnics. Also a courtyard cafe, putting green, trout fishing and a fishing pond for children. I would like to stay at Caddon View again.
Disliked: No complaints. All perfect.
