Liked: Overall impressions were very positive, relaxing atmosphere, warm welcome
Disliked: Didn’t like entering bedroom from car park which was noisy before 7am and because of the wooden floors it sounded like the people in the bedroom above were wearing hobnail boots!would recommen

Unfortunately we won’t be coming...

Liked: We’ve visited Hilt and stayed at Byfords for many years
Disliked: Parking policy appears to have changed. I have a lot of equipment in my car and I only stay at hotels with parking on site. I was told this time that the car park ‘wasn’t Byfords car park anymore’ and that I’d have to park at Budgens. I would never have booked if I’d known. In the event I parked in the car park as a member of staff told me it would be fine! Internet was down nobody seemed to care.

Liked: Classy, central. Even though there’s no on site parking … the available parking is easy and just a two minute walk .
Disliked: Comfy but I think it may be too warm in hot weather in the bedrooms. The Residents only area is very good. Excellent service.

Perfect place for a getaway

Liked: Quirky design, comfy beds, lovely touches such as fresh milk for coffee & biscuits. It was undergoing some renovations but staff ensured it didn’t spoil our stay at all. Lovely breakfast included & staff are friendly & welcoming.
Disliked: The room was a bit smaller than expected.
