Originally built in 1835 The Croft Hotel BW Signature Collection is located in the historic village of Croft-on-Tees overlooking the River Tees. Free parking and free WiFi are available at the hotel. The hotel combines period features with modern décor. Each room has an private bathroom a work desk TV hairdryer as well as tea/coffee making facilities and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Some rooms have beautiful views of Croft Bridge and St Peter's Church supposedly where Lewis Carroll was inspired to write Alice in Wonderland. The on-site restaurant serves up a range dishes specializing in traditional English cuisine but with contemporary influences. OK after an "iffy" start.

Disliked: The reception, when room facilities were not working properly. Trudging up three floors without a lift for half an hour on arrival did not make for a positive start.

Not quite what we’d hoped!

Liked: Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent
Disliked: We waited 20min to check in (and had to go looking for someone) as there was a wedding on Wifi was awful No bathmat provided and only one glass. No wastebin in room, just in sanitary bin in the bathroom

Don’t go if you actually...

Liked: The property itself was lovely but unfortunately they played music in reception right below our room until midnight which they only turned off when I called! They then turned it back on at 7am! Horrendous!
