Buxton Palace Hotel

Ideal location room very tired

Disliked: We thought the hotel was very much top show. Our double room was very tired, the bath had a big chip in it,the sealant around it was black in places one of the towels was dirty, the carpet in the room wasn’t the cleanest, some of the panes of glass in the windows were cracked

Liked: It was in a good location for Buxton Centre
Disliked: The hotel room was in very poor condition and the restaurant wasn't even adequate the food was atrocious we would certainly never stay there again

Liked: The location
Disliked: It only has 1 lift, the room was far away from the lift side and the lights on the corridor is so dime or maybe broken. You can smell the dust from the carpet as I kept sneezing when I walked on the corridor towards my room. There are very limited charging points in the room and you have to share it with fridge/kettle/tv for usage which is ridiculous. Need to bring pin converter as they are using the old(circle) 3 plug point on the bed side. Nothing fancy about the room. Oh and you need to pay £6 pp to use swimming pool/sauna/gym which is incosiderate as we booked the hotel because it has the swimming pool but in the end you need to pay extra on top of the room charge. First and last stay here. Thanks

Liked: Very clean and well presented
Disliked: Booked a compact room but that was an understatement Room 67 has a huge bed with no room to walk around it or open the bathroom door See photo.

Disliked: No CASH , so did not have a beer or food in the evening

Disliked: Breakfast was poor.

It was an ok stay.

Liked: The location of the hotel was good for a walk to town and near the Theatre. Very clean.
Disliked: The mattress on the bed needs replacing, not just a topper on!Cups at breakfast need to be bigger as tea/coffee from the self service machines were overflowing with hot water!
