Excellent little overnighter to unwind...

Liked: Staff were eager to help, enthusiastic and seemed happy in their work. Many having worked there several years. Plenty of staff around to respond. Ambience excellent, food and facilities too. Lovely old Georgian building set in lush surroundings with a church on site. Air conditioning, clean comfy beds, fridge and plenty of hot water. Rooms 30 & 31 great for friends or family to enjoy with long shared balcony.
Disliked: Some may expect a spa, gym or swimming pool but we just went for a calm break in beautiful surroundings. Booked through booking.com 2 ground floor standard doubles with personal patio each. When we arrived we were advised they were on 1st floor with no outside space. Hotel reception said this can happen with booking.com and to always phone hotel to check details when booking. I had trusted we’d have what we’d booked so hadn’t double checked. There were no free available ground floor rooms and I’ve arthritis and there is no lift access…receptionist managed to re-jig the rooms and we waited while they refreshed 2 very recently vacated rooms on 1st floor with a shared balcony - we accepted and just took a while for me to negotiate stairs - but lesson well learned! Always double check with the hotel as all isn’t as it seems!

Liked: I was there for Uckfield Parkrun and so I couldn't use the breakfast. The evening meal was excellent.
Disliked: Cannot think of anything

Phenomenal place to stay with...

Liked: Phenomenal place for a lovely rest. Staff helpful and keen to make it special, restaurant served exceptional food which was good value including a sommelier who ensured we had the perfect wine to go with our meal and wonderful and extensive grounds for views and walking. Our suite was gorgeous.

Delightful experience

Liked: Everything was on point, from the venue and service to the food and drinks. The scenery is stunning, so make sure you allow time to have a walk around.
Disliked: No complaints

Liked: Really great Hotel, lovely setting,staff were very attentive and couldnt do enough to help you.Evening meal and bar staff were really good as was the Breakfast, well cooked and presented.Highly reccomend, would have liked to have stayed longer

Liked: Staff were outstanding. Everybody we passed, regardless of role were so welcoming and friendly. Highlights were the receptionist, bar and restaurant staff. Marc, Rob and Vlad made us feel really welcome, a pleasure to be around such professionals with a personal touch. Food quality was excellent. The grounds were stunning. Building was very well maintained
Disliked: Fitness centre would be nice for longer stays or bad weather
