Very good place to start...

Liked: Good breakfast, nice staff, clean room,very quiet

A pleasant short stay in...

Liked: Generous selection of food at breakfast. Well presented and of good quality.All staff ( reception, waiting and room service) were attentive, courteous and provided good service.
Disliked: My room (single) was functional. Comfortable bed. Modern shower room. No view to write home about as my bedroom overlooked bins and the carpark at the rear of the hotel. As I was out for most of the day this was not a problem.

Most Cozy Place I Kin

Liked: Perfectly pleasantly situated and highly attentive staff who took care of every possible concern from the best way to get to Abbotsford to why Monkey Shoulder is called Monkey Shoulder.
Disliked: Simply that I Did not get to spend more time there.

A lovely overnight stay, we...

Liked: We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room was lovely, very comfortable with lots of hot water for showers and complimentary toiletries. We had a lovely evening meal in the hotel as well. Check in and out was smooth without any delays and the hotel is in a fantastic position in Melrose.
Disliked: The breakfast was lovely with a great choice of options. One minor problem was that the fried eggs were quite undercooked on the top and we had to send them back. However this was dealt with straight away without any fuss - just mentioning it as you may want to ask for your eggs to be turned if don't like them like this.

Liked: Excellent stay! Greeted with a friendly welcome at check-in. Our room (Room 21) was well furnished and equipped with everything we needed, was immaculately clean, and the shower was wonderfully hot! Breakfast was outstanding, especially for a Vegetarian. Thank you!

Liked: A very comfortable, classic country town hotel, well placed for all that Melrose has to offer. Good car park availability.Lovely attentive staff, great menu of well presented and cooked food. Nice real ales in the bar too!Fan in toilet was very loud and shower water pressure was a tad low.
