Burrstone Inn Ascend Hotel Collection

We visited Utica College with our granddaughter. The motel is only 0.7 miles from the school. It was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was very good and everything was very convenient. If this is the college then this will be our hotel. Would surely recommend it.

Disliked: Room was damp, carpet and floor were dirty, covering up w/a strong scent of perfumed cleaners. Breakfast was fair. Not good value for us.

Liked: Bad breakfast…fake eggs, salty sausage, rotten bananas, coffee was hot—only good thing I could say.

Liked: Greeted by the most friendly young lady that checked us in.
Disliked: Value was steep. One elevator doesn’t cut it for the size of the property. Breakfast was way below par.

Liked: I liked everything about the staff and room and breakfast.
Disliked: I wasn't sure about dinner. Was there food in the bar? I walked by with kids to see if there was a menu. Burgers or anything. Anyway, we just went to Applebee's.

Pleasant, with no negative occurrences....

Liked: Very well decorated, good taste in design. My stay was quiet. Clean, entire hotel seemed recently renovated.
Disliked: Wifi password was not on the key card envelope.Information (hours/menu) on restaurant/bar "Beer Garden" was scarce. The design of the seating in the bar was poorly laid out. No pattern to it. The picture on the website showed well laid out seating, but that is not how it was. Face it, it's a bar. No fine dining here.One note - Advertised "Full Buffet Breakfast" on the web site. Was actually the standard issue continental breakfast set up in any hotel. the breakfast sausages were terrible - not grilled at all, and were gray.
