This peaceful family-run Lake District hotel is a 5-minute stroll from Lake Windermere. The Burn How's rooms are all located in the private grounds away from the main building. Each individually decorated room has its own free dedicated car parking space and WiFi. Many have a private balcony. Breakfast is served overlooking the garden. There is a relaxing lounge a patio and a bar open throughout the day and evening. I enjoyed the town, so...

Liked: Excellent breakfast, a combination of buffet and table service for hot breakfast. Smiling faces and readiness to help made the day more enjoyable.
Disliked: May be a fridge in the room.

Very good

Liked: Free Parking close to centre meant that we could walk into town without having to search for an (expensive) place to park.Breakfast good.Staff ..friendly & helpful
Disliked: Some black mould on the grout in the bathroom..very unpleasant when a spray with bleach would have killed it

Great location

Liked: We had a lovely garden cottage room, very pretty and comfortable. It was a short stroll in to the village. Staff were fantastic and beautiful staff and home cooked breakfast.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Beautiful hotel, amazing breakfast and...

Liked: The location was great. Beautiful gardens. Staff so friendly and helpful, they made you feel at home. The breakfast was fantastic. There was an issue with the hot water in one of the rooms so the staff arranged to change rooms. We loved hanging out in the lobby playing board games and having a drink at the bar.
Disliked: nothing

A beautiful room and bathroom...

Liked: The room we were moved to was lovely, on the ground floor and with a small seated area outside the room. The breakfast area was in a separate building and there were pretty gardens at the rear of the property. It wasn't possible to see the Lake from the places we saw but it wasn't far to walk to the waterside. The staff we met were very helpful.
Disliked: Our first room was on the 3rd floor and in the eaves which we hadn't expected from the description of the room. We were moved as the room hadn't been cleaned.
