Good for a stopover in...

Liked: Clean, well-presented room in a nice garden setting. Convenient for an overnight stop in Goring. The facility to leave the bicycles safely locked in a back area of the pub. The manager and the landlord who sorted a problem for us.
Disliked: There wasn't a kettle in the room. We had just cycled a tough section of the Ridgeway so were exhausted and needing a drink. It took over an hour to sort. Eventually the landlord lent us his kettle.

We had a comfortable night...

Liked: Quiet room with comfortable beds to the side of the main pub, well located close to the Ridgeway path, which we were walking.
Disliked: Bath/shower water could have been hotter.

Comfortable, quiet and good value

Liked: Convenient for walking the Ridgeway Beds were very comfortable and room was quiet. Food was good and very good value
Disliked: Hot water was limitedThe chef was not available for breakfast, but there was a lovely cafe across the bridge which opened at 08.30 (Pierreponts)

Liked: Great location, easy to find, friendly staff, lovely countryside around
Disliked: Unfortunalty there was no chef when I was staying there, so had to walk into Goring for food, this isn't far and only a short term issue, would have been nice to know before arrival
