On the whole a pleasant...

Liked: The Bull inn is a beautiful looking building set in the picturesque village of Sonning on Thames -we had booked a 2 night stay through booking.com as we were going to royal ascot The courtyard is a lovely area to sit out and have a drink and a meal. on day of arrival we ate lunch and evening meal and had breakfast both mornings food was exceptional and the staff that work there work very hard and are all very pleasant
Disliked: When booking through Booking.com the room we booked was described as a deluxe double, however the room was very small, double bed, with bedside tables either side walkway either side to get round the bed, coat rack on the wall with 4 hangers, which was ok considering we were only there 2 nights. dressing table and a chair, bedroom lead on to on suite bathroom which was nice. (Looking on Bull Inn website the room we had was a cosy room, which I feel was a more accurate description than Booking .com) The weather that particular weekend was very hot and despite having 2 fans 1 already in the room, one we had bought with us as previous review we has seen had said it was unbearable warm, it was like sleeping in a sauna- despite this we can not control the weather so that was not the fault of Bull InnJust a couple of things that we had to highlight was no hairdryer on arrival, just an empty bag, but once this was highlighted to the staff, they bought one to me within minutes The other thing was that on returning from our day out there were still our used coffee cups on the side and the coffee had not been replenished, again after highlighting this, we had clean cups and the coffee pods were replenished. On the whole we did not feel the room was good value for money, however on reflection this was a very affluent area which is reflected in the price.

Beautiful location lovely food and...

Liked: The bar staff and waiters were very lovely. Allowing time between our courses at dinner for my partner to have a cigarette and providing ice for our room. Food was lovely as good as my last visit in Feb this year. Bed was very comfortable and sitting outside on arrival after breakfast and even after we had checked out was lovely.
Disliked: I was disappointed by stains on the carpet in room 5. I had stopped in the same room last time I was here in Feb and it was very clean back then. Stains outside the bathroom and around the coffee facilities were just left. I found the manager on check out to not be very friendly and approachable hence I didn’t mention the cleanliness of the room. Pity because all of the other staff were lovely.

Liked: Loved the location and the pub. Staff were very pleasant and we were lucky enough to have a parking space. Loved our room and the quirky floor
Disliked: No coke on draught, and the bottles of coke weren't cheap. The food on the second day wasn't as good as the first. The bed was uncomfortable, and the breakfast buffet was pretty poor in selection.
