Liked: Nice place to stayPrivate room with air-con really helps when it’s hot outside.I was worried about shared washrooms , but I had no trouble. They were always clean and I didn’t have to wait to go to one.

Liked: The staff seemed friendly and willing to help, even if somewhat burnout with social fatigue, there are visible safety cameras in many places and every floor, the shower room was tight but water was good and strong. There was no place to put amenities, but there is was a towel available in in the room and hanger in the door. The breakfast was quite nice, and I would gladly say it seemed better than most 3-4 star hotel breakfasts I known.
Disliked: The access to some of the rooms is in another building in the back, via an alley with a couple of half naked women in booths (red light district-style) depending on the hour, dirt, and the omnipresent smell of Marijuana. The stairs in the building are very tight narrow, it's hard to carry up a heavy bag. In the room, the bed is short (I'm 180 cm and it was not enough), walls are wood-thin so noise is a problem, even though I booked a private room, I could hear a half-volume phone speaker across the wall quite well, and next door neighbors yawning at 2h20 finally preparing to sleep, so I didn't get much of it myself. Also concerning is the perceived safety and privacy—or lack thereof. Electronic lock doors had the backup mechanical core (for when the electricity goes out) completely removed in several doors, the valuables safe in the room had its brand tag half removed, exposing the hidden factory keyhole to open the safe (effectively bypassing the electronic code lock), there were very concave fish-eye mirrors in the toilets (quite useless, as they distort the images) that could not be removed to check for cameras no matter how hard I tried, the luggage storing rooms at the reception were walk-in and no one checked if we left with the same items we put there initially, though I had no problems with my items.

Quirky Accomodation

Liked: Great location, great breakfast, very friendly staff, clean rooms in a quirky setting.
Disliked: The rooms in the annexe are very small, this was the only negative point.

Good for a hostel and...

Liked: Location. Excellent location at the centre of the city. And the breakfast (specially the pancakes) deserve a mention.
Disliked: Many things went wrong during our stay:1. We got the second building, whose stairs are quite unsafe to climb up. We got 2nd floor and it was an impossible and highly dangerous task to get the suitcase up.2. The guy at reception, when we checked in, first, took his own sweet time to attend. We waited for 20 mins while he was on the phone.3. He gave us no heads up on the stairs or offered to help.4. While the property was very clean everywhere, our room was not, there was hair and dust in the corners.5. Worst was the ventilation. The air conditioner was set to heat mode only, and temperature outside was 25 + degrees. I complained several times to the front desk but the guy said he did not have control or access to change the mode from heat to cool. Could not get even one night sleep out of 4 nights.
