Nice stay just a little...

Liked: 2 Rooms booked both were clean, bed was comfy in one room but not so much in the other, tea and coffee faculties, it was very hot so nice to have balcony door and window that opened wide, staff pleasant, good location, nice views and good value for money, we will stay again
Disliked: A little old and dated, No A/c but I knew that anyway having stayed here before, the gardens haven't been maintained since our last visit, benches not accessible due to long grass, we also had a wasps nest in the vent on balcony, thankfully they didn't really fly in, just hovered around the window, told staff in the morning

Not what was advertised

Liked: Staff friendly
Disliked: Hardly any staff, what little staff there was seemed to be juggling the reception and bar. The whole place was in a state of neglect, the didn't seem to be any sort of general maintenance done. The gardens where overgrown and neglected. And the whole place smelt musty. The bedroom was clean but dated, the bathroom was serviceable. Sink cracked and chipped enamel in the bath. Only one bath towel between two these were not changed in the four days we stayed there. Also the room wasn't cleaned or serviced for the duration of our stay. The lift was broken so had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with luggage. The restaurant wasn't open as was advertised. pictures look lovely but the reality is not the same

Nice location but poor hotel....

Liked: Location is very good for walking and visiting the area.
Disliked: Being charged £20 per per, per night for 5 nights, for something that would t cost them anymore than me staying there without my dogs. The breakfast was a big disappointment. There is no hot food and the “continental breakfast” (?) got worse during my stay. If it wasn’t included I’d have gone elsewhere. The hotel has obviously been a lovely pace to stay on the past but is now tired, looks run down, is poorly maintained and dirty in places.

It worked for the 2...

Liked: The staff were very friendly and the room very spacious. For a tired building, the car park was not full of potholes, which made arriving there hot and tired on a motorcycle safe to park!
Disliked: I should have been told in advance that the restaurant was closed, as the hotel was slightly out of town. Having arrives on two wheels on a hot day, I needed to go out without changing my clothes to find something to eat, whereas advanced knowledge would have meant I could have eaten before arrival.I know the hotel was under new management (they had told me in advance) of a slight name change) but the whole building was looking rather tired,

Liked: Good shower pressure
Disliked: Smell, cleanliness, tired decor, uncomfortable bed, shower curtain, stained towels, unkept gardens

Very disappointed

Liked: The location was peaceful
Disliked: Very dated, scruffy decor, lift out of order, no kitchen working for food. Cleaners not thorough. A pair of dirty boxer shorts left by the bed leg and empty vape boxes under the bed both clearly on view without the need to bend down. Grim!!
