Not very good value for...

Liked: The restaurant and the swimming pool
Disliked: The room and the front desk staff

Not the best if you...

Liked: Hotel is lovely and most staff were exceptional. Night porter is useless and the blonde receptionist is unfriendly/ ignores you unless she has to engage. Lovely location with great nearby pub/restaurant if you want to eat out. Rooms are mostly great.
Disliked: We were put in room 4 and had the corridor door banging all night/early morning. Last person through at night was 1.30am and then people leaving in the morning from 3.30am. If the person in the room above used the toilet, and then flushed, it made such a noise in our room it woke you up. Told reception and they offered to move us if it was a problem the 2nd night - we had booked in gorgeous 4 nights. It wasn't as bad so we stayed put as didn't really want to pack and move. However on 3rd night I was t reception at 1.15am asking to be moved it was that bad. Night porter was slouched in his chair with ear pods in and basically said there was nothing he could do and to go to reception in the morning. We did and got moved for our last night, was much quieter, actually got some sleep! However this room had no plug in the bath.

Liked: Liked the leisure facilities they were very clean and as expected. The gentleman at the leisure reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was ok, clean but a bit dated, however looked like the hotel was being refurbished in parts
Disliked: Didn't like check in wasn't friendly or welcoming. Did not give any information about the hotel, area or breakfasts. Didn't ask if we wanted to book breakfast so we didn't and went elsewhere. We got lost going to room and had to come back to ask directions. Would have been nice to have been shown maybe even half of the way. Check out was same member of staff who did not ask how our stay was so obviously not interested in her patrons. Was very cold. We are Scottish but not sure what some tourists might think. Not sure if we will stay here again

Good two night stay away...

Liked: Swimming pool area clean , good selection at breakfast, clean spacious room
Disliked: Room decor needs updating

Difficult night and wouldn’t recommend

Liked: Pleasent location and looked ok from the outside
Disliked: First bedroom was absolutely filthy. Carpet with cigarette burn, flaking paint and the bedding was marked & threadbare. Second room wasn’t much better. Staff attitude sadly disappointing. Buffet breakfast was a dried up mess

Great food

Liked: Leisure facilities, food was lovely, staff were friendly.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Very good

Liked: We liked our room, watched a deer in the woods from our bedroom window. We enjoyed dinner. The potato scones and Lorne sausage for breakfast were excellent, very tasty.
Disliked: Not a dislike more an observation/comment. It was a hike from reception to our room. Whilst we are in our later years we managed our luggage up and down stairs and through three fire doors with good humour.
