Great value for money and...
Liked: Lovely location. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was lovely although more fruit would be nice. Room was extremely large. The hotel was maybe slightly dated but was excellent value for money and would stay there again. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Disliked: I wouldn’t say there was anything we didn’t like. It was great value for money.

Non- returner for us.
Liked: The facities were good and very clean, especially the indoor pool. The restaurant was really nice in the morning, as was the breakfast. The outdoor seating area and pool to the rear of the main hotel was lovely. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Upon arrival, we were not told about a large party renting out the restaurant until after we had paid for the room (so there was no chance of an evening meal). Then we were told that the party might disturb us until 1am. Although the music did not, the guests returning to their rooms en mass did. Still, it's one of those things that happens and is just not so lucky for us, I guess. We were put in the 'lodge', a building in the car park to the side of the main house. Dated decor and the outside area needed some tlc. The room itself was large and spacious and had 2 windows (no view as booking.com website said, but I can forgive that). However, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, painted furniture was all chipped, and the mattresses were rock solid and noisy even to sit on. There were cobwebs in the corners, mis-matched side lights straining their leads to outlets, and precariously balanced. My child's bed (the only single) was next to a first story window with no restrictor. Neither window infact had a restrictor. As a big safety concern, we didn't feel safe leaving the windows open in the night even though it was very hot. If this had been a budget hotel, the room would have been fine and what I would expect. For the price point of the Brunswick, I would expect a higher standard of room. The location is amazing, which I guess is what you are paying for. The facilities are okay, but we won't be booking there again, unfortunately when there are so many other options.
