Very good

Liked: The grounds were great, the room was comfortable, the building is stunning from an architectural point of view. Breakfast was nice and there was plenty of it. The guy who i think was the manager was really nice
Disliked: Another chap who "greeted" us on arrival, i assume he is the owner, was rather stand offish. The decor in teh communal areas is a little tired

Tired, not what it was...

Liked: Beautiful building, dinner was delicious. The Manager was kind, bringing us some bubbly outside whilst we had some photos taken.
Disliked: The hotel has become very run down and in desperate need of some TLC. Very sad given that it used to be lovely. We stayed in the stables which is very pretty, but again needs attention. You can?t have broken lights, broken window frames, missing bulbs, broken tiles and general run down decor in a hotel of this standard and price. The breakfast wasn?t great either which was in stark contrast to the lovely high standard dinner. The new modern furniture of bright colours and metal furniture in the communal areas is in our opinion a shame as it?s not in keeping with the hotel, the previous furniture and decor was beautiful. Unfortunately we got double charged for our stay and had to go back for a refund. It was however sorted without any issues.
