Broome Park Hotel

A perfect short stay.

Liked: We stayed in one of the self-catering lodges next to the hotel. Large, spacious rooms, well equipped and pleasant décor.Though we only stayed two nights, we would have been happy to stay longer.The staff we met were an absolute delight.
Disliked: No real negative comments, only minor issues. The rooms would benefit from a little TLC, as would be expected from any room near the end of the summer season. Apart from this I would have given them a 10.

A stay of two halves.

Liked: The room was awesome, a little kitchen area, the bed was huge and the room was really clean. The restaurant served exactly the same food as the bar area but without the service charge and I think was a little cheaper. The hotel had a small pool and a small gym. The front of house staff were functional.
Disliked: The cleaners, grounds staff were excellent. Friendly, approachable and very chatty. The front of house were not, don't get me wrong they did their job but were not chatty, friendly or smiling they were just there. Another guest described the gym and swimming pool as grubby and needed a little bit of care. I could not have put it better myself. I found the onion rings very oily and greasy so I didn't eat them the waitress said: 'Yeah they are but I like them like that!' Not much I could add

Disliked: A lot of stairs to get to the room. Loft room reduced head room by windows.

Fantastic accommodation, close to Dover...

Liked: Lovely spacious lodge in beautiful hotel grounds. Very short drive to Dover ferry for onward journeys. Lodge (5) was comfortable and clean and surprisingly spacious. Some music noise from a wedding in the hotel but not too noticeable or disruptive. Sadly the pool was closed for maintenance the time we wanted to use it but we did see others managed to swim later but sadly the later time didnt work for us.
Disliked: Shame we couldn't use the pool but this was down to our short stay (1night) and our children being younger and needed dinner/bed before our onward journey the following day. If we visit again we will plan a longer stay to take advantage of the beautiful grounds and facilities.

Liked: Clean, friendly service in historic building. Very comfortable, lovely breakfast and superb views across countryside. Room was large and well maintained. Good for golf

Disliked: Repairs/ maintenance needed by the owners to keep it up to the standard it should be. Bathroom ceiling fan did not turn off for 50 minutes its noise stopped me sleeping that night. Staff trying hard but not enough of them.
