Very pleasant weekend break

Disliked: Signage within the park could be better

Superb venue and room.

Liked: Room 'Charlie 3' is superb! Sadly the toilet made many strange and loud noises, especially disturbing when visited during the night. Only evidence of cleaning was a change of cups.
Disliked: As above. Breakfast was good, but due to numbers ran out of some items on a regular basis.Dinner was good without being excellent... For an establishment of such class, expected a slightly wider menu. We had steaks which were on the 'tough' side. Not a complaint, but marginal;ly disappointing, maybe.

Liked: Breakfast was very good.
Disliked: As there was no lift we were not offered any assistance to carry luggage to room allocated on the higher floor.

Lovely setting

Liked: The setting is beautiful and the main house is full of character and charm. The lodges are nicely set away from the main house, quiet and a good space
Disliked: The lodges are looking tired now and in need of refurbishment. They are a lovely space for a large family which is great but everything needs updating.

We would not recommend to...

Liked: We loved the history of the property and its location. Definitely charming. We also loved the treatments in the Vaults.
Disliked: Overall, we didn’t like how the property is being managed. Staff at reception and in the restaurant area were not switched on and service-oriented enough (except for one lovely man who had recently joined the team in the resto area). Examples are dirty chair covers in restaurant area, food crumbs/food pieces from previous guests under table, no milk brought with black tea, no check-ins on food served, slow at breakfast with bringing new plates, no extra scones or cakes for guests who order a coffee (response: exact counting for afternoon tea orders, etc). No games or trails for kids. Lodges are nice but lots of bits that need to be fixed and replaced (need repair TLC!). Indoor pool and showers are tired and worn down (lots of hair in pool, only cold water with showers, not clean). All in all, disappointing as the potential is there.

Totally unsatisfactory for the amount...

Liked: Breakfast stone cold , late in setting up . No cutlery on table, no crockery available, had to ask three times for small crockery for toast. Large pots of jams all with green mould within ! AVOID !!!!!!!!
