A great hotel with friendly...

Liked: Frank on reception was so lovely and an absolute credit to the team! He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast - was mediocre. Sausages, bacon, mushrooms beans and egg was ok, the rice crispies were a bit stale. The bed was really comfy.
Disliked: Nothing to complain about really.

Could be gorgeous but dated...

Liked: The spa was pretty good the grounds are gorgeous and dinner was quite nice. Bathroom small but adequate, loads of wardrobe space, ironing board and iron, which was black and sticky. Good night sleep, big bed, nice linens. Receptionist on leaving very polite and apologetic. We had quite a big room with a 4 poster bed and a chaise longue and plenty of other seating with a proper dressing table and stool but only 1 small mirror, low down in the room. Big mirror over bath though. Lots of parking available, towels provided for swimming, but no bags for wet swim gear.
Disliked: It was very dated with masses of cobwebs everywhere, restaurant dirty. Our room had a small step in it which caused us to trip more than once. The windows would not stay open and had to ask for a fan as it was very hot, which was provided. T.V didn't work properly.There are no glasses in the room or bathroom and all the tea bags milk etc were just shoved in the mugs. Dinner was good but we were plagued by small flies so left as soon as we could. Breakfast was terrible. Staff member appeared uninterested, no eye contact, table half set, no spoons, no sugars, juice almost run out, cereal soft, cooked food dried and shrivelled, toast raw or incinerated! Oh, and more flies!!! And this was just 9.00a.m. floorboards are VERY creaky and we could hear every step of people above us. Nice idea but probably wouldn't stay again unless deep cleaned throughout.

A pleasant stay.

Liked: The pool and the spa were beautiful and very clean! The room bath towels were huge and fluffy. The room was very clean.
Disliked: The ivy climbs through the windows at the front. I also couldn't cool the room down in the heatwave, so it was a very sticky night. Waited ages for cups to put coffee in and even longer for side plates at breakfast.

Disliked: childs bed in our room needs replacing- we had to put mattress on the floor

Disliked: The hot water tap in the bathroom wasn't working. The bath that the shower was in was broken. The carpet in the bedroom was threadbare in places. I was really expecting better.
