Ideal for Belfry trips, you...

Liked: This is a great little place, we stayed here the evening before a golf weekend at the Belfry and location wise it couldn't have been better. I was a bit dubious reading some of the reviews but honestly I think the hotel matched the price point and some people expect far too much, I wasn't expecting 5 star as I didn't pay a 5 star price. The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds and the building is lovely, a real period property. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was well priced, fresh cooked and tasty. Breakfast had a great selection for the continental, we were up and out too early for a cooked breakfast so can't comment on that. Room was spacious, nice and clean, and really quiet.
Disliked: Admittedly the decor and the facilities are a little dated but it was by no means awful. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, both mattresses in our single room had sunk in the middle but I still slept fine. There was no hairdryer in the room but again I would see this as a luxury more than a necessity at this price. Don't be put off staying here, just have relevant expectations as to what you get for £60ish.

Exceptional

Liked: A fantastic stop over location, convenient for our drive from North to South West to break up the journey as we were plagued with hold ups. We were late arriving but the reception couldn't have been any more welcoming offering food and drink as well as the keys for the room. The room was lovely, very independent decoration that gave a feeling of grandeur and huge double bed. an ensuite bath/shower, towels and shower gel, hand wash and moisturiser. Parking is right outside and umbrella's to use if staying ang going walking. I generally stay in more commercial premises so this was a real treat, individual and a real find. It was very comfortable and quiet while convenient for the motorway. It's unfortunate that we were late arriving so too tired to take advantage of the bar and restaurant but from what I saw I would definitely stay again. I was amazed at the quality for the low cost.
Disliked: Nothing it was great

Never again!!!

Liked: Location
Disliked: Staff didn’t say breakfast finished at 9am!!! So when we arrived at breakfast at 9.10am we were turned away for being too late. 9.30am the maid walked in without knocking and saw my partner come out of the bathroom naked! Went to complain at reception and no one was there for most of our stay.

Overall a very enjoyable evening...

Liked: The room was large and spacious with a very large comfy bed. my evening meal was superb and the staff were excellent and very polite. The hotel was very clean and the dining area was immaculate. This is a quaint old fashioned hotel that appeals to my sense of history, but it is modern in its approach.
Disliked: nothing really, have stayed here before and love it as it is.
