The Spotlight on Broadford Hotel

Where Music History Meets Island Charm

Modern comfort meets historic charm at the Broadford Hotel, a stylish 4-star property set on the scenic Isle of Skye. Overlooking Broadford Bay and nestled in the heart of the village, this hotel blends a cozy Scottish vibe with luxury touches—including its unique claim to fame as the original home of the world-famous Drambuie liqueur. Each room is themed around a different Drambuie tartan, with warm interiors, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi, offering a one-of-a-kind stay with a splash of heritage.

Whether you're road-tripping the Highlands or catching live music nearby, Broadford Hotel is a welcoming base for your island escape.

Why Concert-goers love it

While the Isle of Skye isn’t your typical concert city, the Broadford Hotel is a quiet, scenic stay that’s perfect for those attending intimate live performances or local music events. The peaceful location ensures a restful night’s sleep after the show, and free parking makes it easy to come and go—even late at night. With a relaxed check-in from 15:00, you’ll have time to settle in before heading out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a base with character and comfort
  • Solo travelers wanting to pair a bucket-list concert with scenic exploration
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Fans who prefer a peaceful retreat post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking good value with a touch of luxury

Food and Drink Options

Foodies will appreciate the locally sourced meals served at the Gabbro Bar in the off-season and the Spinnaker Bistro during high season. With views overlooking the bay, your dinner comes with a side of natural beauty. While there's no 24-hour dining, the on-site options are perfect for a post-concert bite, and tea/coffee facilities in-room help with those slower mornings after a late night.

Nightlife Options

The nightlife on Skye is more about mellow vibes than clubbing, but the hotel bar offers a relaxing setting to enjoy a local whisky or Drambuie cocktail. For those seeking local live music, check out nearby pubs in Broadford village—many host traditional folk nights, especially in summer.

What People Say

Guests love the historic charm and beautiful bay views, along with the delicious food and friendly staff. Many highlight the unique decor and peaceful atmosphere as standout features. The location is often praised for being a perfect balance of central and serene.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms can feel a bit compact, and the Wi-Fi signal may not always be strong in every corner. Breakfast starts a bit early, which may not suit night owls recovering from a late gig—but the in-room tea and coffee help bridge that gap.

The Bottom Line

A charming, historic stay with scenic views and warm hospitality—perfect for concert-goers who want to unwind in style after the show.

Disappointing

Liked: Check in and check out
Disliked: It was quite expensive for the amenities and the view from the room as over a roof.. little windows to open and the room was warm and the bed was smaller than I thought it would be. Overall not worth the money. I will not stay there again.$

Skip this hotel, go down...

Liked: The location is pretty central, the surrounding area is gorgeous. Being next to the loch was awesome. It was nice having a parking lot next to the hotel and not down the street. The restaurant is great, the chef is amazing! Best fish and chips in Scotland.
Disliked: The shower drain was clogged so be prepared to shower in ankle deep water. The wifi is nearly nonexistent, the TVs dont work so you cant see the news or weather and the bed was super hard. We requested a room with a full bed and were given two twins so my wife and I slept separately like we're in the 50s. The room was hot and stuffy and there was no fan. As much as we paid for 2 nights breakfast should be covered and not an additional 60£.

Passable

Liked: The garden is beautiful with nice big trees. It has picnic tables and has an amazing view on the beach. The staff were really nice
Disliked: It’s an old building, tiny stairs and no lift. The room and bathroom were very big however they didn’t make good use of the space. The bed is very small for a couple which made very uncomfortable. The windows barely open and the room was extremely hot on a sunny day

Lovely hotel and very friendly...

Liked: The hotel was lovely with really nice staff and a fantastic restaurant. The room was very comfortable and dog friendly.
Disliked: I feel that for £238 per night breakfast should be included. This would have cost an addition £17 per person which seems expensive.

Liked: Historic old fashioned building with olden days charm and comfort. Quiet and pretty location. Good meals at the restaurant.
Disliked: I was hoping for a view of the sea from my room but was delighted with the views from the restaurant.
