Liked: Our room was super clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. It was a little difficult to find staff at times, because there was a wedding party there
Disliked: After reading the reviews the breakfast was a little disappointing, there was no muesli or fresh fruit i.e. bananas, apples or oranges. The pastries consisted of croissants only and they were over cooked. The cooked breakfast was ok. So really the cost of the breakfast was very high for what was available. Wi-fi was somewhat hit and miss.The view from our window was a wall and hedge. Tried to call reception a few times via mobile but there was no response.Be very careful if your car in is the overflow carpark, my husband slipped down the slope, when I reported it to reception, I was told there is another way down, but the sign is so low you can't see it, maybe relocate the sign at eye level.

Exceptional garden room that I...

Liked: Absolutely wonderful room - I had a garden room which was exceptional in all facilities and could view the open area and the stars -also a surprised added bonus of seeing tiny bats from nearby trees swooping in to find food was almost a Attenborough film clip - and so to bed which was so comfortable I didnt want to get up .
Disliked: That we could have stayed longer . Staff were very good .

Relaxed in a country retreat

Liked: Breakfast was a standard selection of creals, juices and croissant plus a good selection of cooked dishes Kippers not available one morningDinner menu alternates every second day. Good selection of choices. We both found them very filling if three courses taken..Room was a little dreary caused by a steep bank outside but it was comfortable and well appointed.Very attractive and well maintained grounds.All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The dining room layout was like a scene from "Separate Tables" Not everyone wants to chat over a meal but some thought could be given to getting guests closer together. This may not be an issue in high season?Generally prices in the area are expensive no matter where you eat or drink.The shower in the room is designed to save water and energy but it is not designed to give an invigorating experience.

Liked: Location superb, staff were lovely and very friendly and professional. Room was a good size for a standard double and nice shower and bathroom. Meal in restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and evening meal.
Disliked: Pillows were very hard and would be nice to have one softer More shower gel if staying tow nights Alcohol very highly priced glass of wine £11.50
