Very good

Liked: Room was very clean and serviced each day. Bed was really comfortable. Meals in evening on the whole where good. Staff are friendly and efficient
Disliked: Breakfast was poor 1st morning waited 40 mins there were only 6 people having breakfast. I asked for poached egg on toast they were like hard boiled eggs!! Bread for toast is really nice bread but not suitable for toast. Hubby had full english mushrooms seemed as if they had been reheated.or stale fryed egg was hard and breakfast was luke warm 2nd morning we ordered beans & egg on toast and beans & mushroom on toast. Again was luke warm and same issue with toast. Where not offered any cereal we chose not to have breakfast there the other 2 days.

Lovely location / suitable for...

Liked: Breakfast great on first day. But on 2nd day as we had not booked specific time slot night before ( no staff around anyway! ) they were about to tell us we couldn't have any... there was No One else there! Then the toast was green mouldy but guy did reimburse me cash for it Liked the bar / terrace outside/ location/ old grandeur of hotel . One member of staff - a lady - can't remember her name was brilliant. Rest of the girls were sullen and grumpy and couldn't be bothered to speak.
Disliked: I know it maybe expensive ( as hundreds in little panes of windows ) but a window cleaner would be nice - in and out! Lots of cobwebs. Red thick carpet and Brown painted wall in bedroom not exactly pretty. Mattresses pretty lumpy. Linen lovely and towels.

Port Sunlight Weekend

Liked: Location was excellent for our needs. Room was comfortable enough for our 2 night stay. Pub desperately needs updating and carpet replacing, looks like hasn't been changed for decades. Everywhere clean though so that's a bonus.
Disliked: Staff at breakfast need training. Pleasant enough but dopey. My husband spilled coffee on table and I was passed a cloth to clean it up after asking!!!. They should have done it and asked if he wanted another....not a chance

Refurbishment needed now!

Liked: The location.
Disliked: The hotel is in dire need of refurbishment. I realise, as a listed building, any alterations are difficult but the lack of constant hot water was unacceptable. We stayed during the July heat wave and air conditioning would have been welcome. All we had was a portable fan. The electrics were unusual. The bedside lamps only worked if a second light switch by the door was on. The curtains needed rehanging. The shower curtain needed replacing, as did the shower tube. Water pressure was low. The bathroom fan didn't work. All in all our stay was disappointing.

Bridge Inn: Old-World Charm, Modern...

Liked: Let’s get one thing straight, the Bridge Inn is a 19th-century hotel. I’ve seen some reviews from people clearly expecting a 5-star experience at 2-star prices, which always baffles me.For me, the staff made the stay exceptional. Sean was the first person I met on arrival and gave me the distinct impression he had two identical brothers working with him because he seemed to be everywhere at once!
Disliked: If I’m being picky, there’s room for a bit more attention to detail. A small light in my room wasn't working and the chips at oneeal were a touch overdone. Honestly, nothing that would put me off staying again.
