Spacious but disappointing

Liked: Spacious room and reasonable outlook.(in our 2nd room). Staff were good, helpful and friendly. Good location.
Disliked: Was expecting more from this 4 star apartment, as per booking.com's rating. We had several options below and around the same price range and chose based on location, room pictures and other guest comments. We moved from our first room as it felt dark and closed in... to a 2nd more spacious room that had stained (but new) carpets, dirty grout, sticky kitchen floor and a v firm bed. We had people running in the room or corridor above us much of the 1st night, which added to our lack of sleep with the mattress dramas. Disappointing all round really (other than the space) for what we thought was going to be a romantic get away. Room fine if I'd gone with a mate for a boys weekend. 1st time on booking.com the pictures were not true to the actual venue... and this is not 4 star... rather 3-3.5 star! Not horrible, just lacked the sparkle we thought we were getting.
