Liked: Great location, spa facilities amazing and reception women was lovley and gave us an upgrade on our room as was quiet, the spa and reception lady that day has definitely made us go back.
Disliked: The only down fall was the restaurant I had looked at the menu before and was so excited for the homous starter! We went in, it was quiet but took 20mins for us to get asked for drink order, then the waiter asked any allergies I said I was allergic to citrus fruits (lemon lime orange) after the drinks eventually came, another ten mins, we ordered our starters and mains, we had then finished our drinks, another ten mins and the waiter said I couldn’t get my homous starter as it had citrus, I don’t know why he couldn’t of told me that straight away and also don’t know why I couldn’t be made without e.g just not put the lemon or lime in it. Another issue - we pre ordered breakfast for room service, I rocked the sourdough avocado and poached eggs for 9:30am, at 9:30am our room phone rang and was told they couldn’t give me the avocado as it had lime to which we were told they would just bring toast instead, I was disappointed with this as wanted a proper breakfast not just toast, again don’t understand why they couldn’t just put avocado on the toast without the line or why I wasn’t offered another option.

Wasps and early check out!

Liked: The only good thing about this hotel was some of the staffs and the view.
Disliked: My partner and I travelled from Edinburgh to stay at Bowfield Hotel and Spa, your lodge (Cairn Gorm) between April 27th and 30th as a surprise getaway for her birthday. We were looking forward to a peaceful and memorable experience together. Unfortunately, several issues during our stay deeply affected the comfort and joy we had hoped for.When we first arrived, we noticed spider webs and even a spider in the room. We mentioned this immediately to the staff member who showed us in — they kindly removed some webs, but the problem continued throughout our stay. Despite our reports to reception about webs and spiders, spiders continued to appear, and my partner had to remove several herself. I know it may be okay to see some spiders in the rooms because it’s in the nature. But at least cleaning could be better. There were a lot of spider webs in different locations in the room which were not cleaned.On the second day, we used the hot tub for only an hour, but our experience was cut short due to a sudden presence of wasps. We informed reception right away and also mentioned seeing wasps entering a potential nest on the lodge roof. Unfortunately, no one came to inspect that day. The following morning, as soon as we stepped outside wasps were flying above us and we even couldn’t stand in our garden which was particularly frightening as my partner has an allergy. I reported it again, and finally two staff members came to assess the situation. Once the wasps emerged visibly, they offered to move us to another lodge — however, we were already frightened. We said okay and waited for a new lodge in our room.Just as we were waiting to move, a wasp appeared inside the bathroom, flying directly toward my partner. She was understandably distressed. I immediately called the reception this time and they came to our room and give us a new lodge card and we quickly relocated once the new lodge was ready.

Lovely views, nice food and...

Liked: Breakfast was lovely, good choice of foods.
Disliked: Would have been better if we had a sink etc also we weren’t told about the swimming pool being closed to families at certain times when classes are on so never had the chance to try the pool.

Very peaceful few days in...

Liked: Everything was lovely.Staff were excellent.
Disliked: The price we paid to go into the spa facilities. £20 each person was a little high, especially after paying for our own treatments. Our meal had to go back and I really, really didn’t like to complain or ever send anything back to a kitchen. It got rectified straight away and Michael was very helpful afterwards. The shower was leaking and our garden lights didn’t work. So nothing too drastic. Just little things.
