Omni Parker House

The room was nice. Bathroom a bit small; elevators noisy but well worth it for the charm of the building if you like history.

Liked: It's antiquity and location.
Disliked: The cost of in room water.

Lovely hotel, but renovations not...

Liked: Beatuiful historic hotel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great location.
Disliked: The rooms have been renovated and I was disappointed that the bathrooms were much smaller and configured in an awkward way. We rented three rooms and each bathroom was cramped and difficult to manuever in. One had no towel rack or hook. In each the toilets were wedged in a very narrow space between either the wall and the sink or shower giving very little space for comfort. The sinks are long and rectangular with the drain sitting towards the far end meaning water in the front end of the sink doesn't drain. The bathrooms are just poorly designed and when you are staying for a few days, it becomes a real annoyance.

Liked: Breakfast and staff were lovely.
Disliked: The hotel guaranteed a roll out bed/ cot during booking and again confirmed a day prior to check in. Upon arrival, our room was not prepared nor did they reserve a room large enough to accommodate the extra cot. We were given an extra room however for only 2 nights and had to unfortunately cut our trip short due to the sleeping arrangements.

Historic hotel in a fantastic...

Liked: Hotel was in an amazing location on the Freedom Trail and very close to the T. The room we had looked to be recently updated and was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and the bell-hops / valet were so helpful. The workout facility was nice also!
Disliked: The room was on the small side as was the bathroom. The bathroom had a sliding door with frosted glass and an automatic blinding light that turned on whenever anyone walked by or opened the door including in the middle of the night when people were trying to sleep. The hotel is currently under renovation which meant that I was woken up at 6:30am to the sounds of drills and hammers.

Terrible, the hotel overbooked and...

Liked: Nothing, I was moved to a hotel that I didn't reserve! I was not notified ahead of time.,and only found out at 10pm when I try to check into my room, after a cross country flight. I was no longer able to walk to the Boston Marathon that I was racing in. Moreover, I couldn't just walk to it after I finished the marathon.
Disliked: I reserved the Omni downtown hotel so that I will be close to my friends within walking distnace of the Boston Marathon bus pickup location, as I was racing. When I got to the Omni hotel, they told me they had an issue, and I had a room at the Omni seaport which was 1.5 miles away and about 30 minutes by the T. This was a terrible experience as I was far from my friends and the race bus pickup. I was very disappointed at how this really negatively impacted my trip experience, made race day not what I had planned, a longer commute to the start. I also could not stay out late with my friends as I didn't feel safe coming back to the hotel so far by myself.
