Absolutely amazing

Liked: Lovely hotel , lovely rooms amazing food !
Disliked: A couple of very minor cleaning issues

Great weekend in a stunning...

Liked: Loved that the cell doors and windows have been retained - you can see it is 3 cells for each room. Our friends had the room with the stone walls which was stunning. Very comfortable rooms with everything you need. We stayed in the naval wing even the corridors are amazing with the glass ceilings. Love all the little plaques with info about the prison. Great little bar with the courtyard outside, lovely restaurant and the jail experience is well worth it and far exceeded our expectations.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: It’s been upgraded for a lovely stay. We really enjoyed it.
Disliked: An automatic tip being applied when checking out. We paid a costly amount to stay. (Cost of stay was worth the money) but there was no need to be asked for this.

Superb

A bucket list hotel to...

Liked: Good reception. The room was excellent, with a mini fridge, full of soft drinks and proper little bottles of milk for tea and coffee. The bar did great cocktails. Lovely food.
Disliked: No beans for breakfast. lol. Bar area was a bit small.

Wonderful stay in an unusual...

Liked: On site parking. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and clean, with complimentary mini-bar and well-stocked tea/coffee facilities. The onsite restaurant was very good, and breakfast excellent with a choice of hot food cooked to order, and a buffet with bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, etc. And of course the fascinating location; Despite being converted into a smart hotel, you never lose sight of the fact that this was once a notorious jail.
Disliked: I always try to find something to dislike about the accommodation, and this time it was a little difficult. So here goes: The mattress was slightly harder than would have been my preference (but I had an excellent night's sleep). And the lighting in the room and bathroom was just dim enough that I had to take extra care when applying make-up.

Great place to stay in...

Liked: The staff and rooms were lovely. The bed was comfortable and the extra cold drinks and water were welcome. Bath room clean with great towels and robes. Very interesting conversion full of history great place to stay
Disliked: One minor point is that for the evening meal we felt we we all seated in one small corner when there was more room. We hope to return again and we ask to be seated elsewhere.
