Passable
Liked: Good location, nice staff, nice dinner. Might stay again if we were in this part of wales but only if we had a better room. Overall just ok.
Disliked: Very shabby bathroom in a room backing onto car park. Safety light on all night long as it was an accessible room (which we didn’t book) so we slept very badly. Kept waking up thinking it was morning. We asked for it to be turned off but not possible. Very poor. Tatty chipped doors and mirrors. Very run down.

All in all - a...
Liked: The staff were all great. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good with very large portions. Free parking was also great - with a narrow entrance.
Disliked: Like other reviews - the room overlooking the street was noisy on Saturday night especially as they had live music in the bar immediately below our room (master bedroom) as well as a noisy street. I have to add that the room should have had tissues (it did not).

It’s a lovely old pub...
Liked: It’s a lovely old pub with great atmosphere and even better food. Apart from the bad sleep, I loved staying here as the location was fabulous and the atmosphere even better. Easy to find as it’s on the main road, we drove down the side of the hotel to the carpark at the back, which was never full. The little alley to the back is tiny and I wouldn’t have like to drive anything bigger than the Toyota Corolla we were in. The only way into the hotel is through the front door of the hotel so any bags have to be wheeled around, which is easy to do. The windows open, which we love, as we love fresh air especially when there is no AC. Luckily it wasn’t too hot (there in July). Breakfast was fabulous. Cereals, fruit, variety of yogurts, jams, OJ, tea and coffee available in a help your self table. Full breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, baked beans, tomato, mushroom, white or wholemeal toast available and cooked to order in any combination. Hot and fresh.
Disliked: Our room was on the first floor so be prepared to carry them up stairs. The room was small and it was a challenge to find enough space for 2 suitcases and 2 hand luggage. There’s a large club chair that gets in the way and serves no real purpose that a smaller chair couldn’t have offered. The bathroom is small and compact with no towel rails or hooks. We travel with a hanging toiletry bag as we find space around the sink is usually limited, but there isn’t even anywhere to hang in here either. The bed seems comfortable because it’s soft and every time one of us turned over the other woke. Also it’s a double and my husband is not small, so I struggled for space. Our room was at the front of the building and the noise from the road was horrendous, especially on our last night, which was a Saturday. Loud cars, motorbikes and people walking home, catching taxis, shouting, singing and arguing. We hardly slept and if we did we were woken by this noise or the bouncing bed. If available ask for a room at the rear of the property (I’m not sure if there are any).
