Superb

Fine for a short stay.

Liked: Friendly welcome, help given with a heavy case.Room ok, bed seemed new, and was big. Decor was a bit tired in places.
Disliked: Bathroom was tiny, and the shower was a nightmare. Constantly hot and then cold.Clearly the hotel has suffered over the last few years. We understand that it has a new owner who is trying hard to improve it. So parts fine, parts not so good. But Southwold needs a reasonably priced hotel. So wish them luck with it.

Excellent stay

Liked: Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hanna and her team are doing a good job, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and had everything you needed. Liked the coffee station on the same floor if you needed extra tea, sugar etc. The food was excellent, breakfast really tasty and plenty of choice. We ate at the hotel every evening as the food was excellent, especially the homemade coleslaw and onion rings!
Disliked: Some things are tired and dated, especially the exterior but the hotel is undergoing renovation so hopefully these will be addressed. Apart from that we were very happy with everything.

Good location and comfortable rooms

Liked: Easy walk into town but not too close so parking was easy.Good comfortable and large room, plenty of space for us and our two dogs

Liked: Great location and food. All thd staff were friendly, helpful and efficient without being formal or intrusive. This made for a very comfortable and relaxed stay
Disliked: Kerb appeal, but bear in mind this is a work in progress and they have prioritised the interior. A fine old building being lovingly restored
