Room disappointing.

Liked: Good location near village and facilities.
Disliked: Room was very bare. Window/sliding door was bolted shut to prevent any opening or use. Air conditioner was very noisy and wind could blow in from outside. Basically very dated and not good value. Overpriced.

Okay but the tourist tax...

Liked: The beds were comfy. The hotel/room are clean but the floors need renovations(they're warped). It's a decent hotel if the price wasn't so high.
Disliked: The hotel is expensive, and therefore my expectations are higher. The room was clean but with the price I expected a better carpet/floor. It was warped. But that wouldn't be a big deal if the hotel was cheaper. The tourist tax was what bothered me the most, and maybe that's not the hotel's fault. But I was forced to pay over $100 due to the tourist tax which had not started when I booked. We did get a $60 food voucher for the hotel restaurants and passes for some activities in the village with that tourist tax. But it poured rain so I wouldn't have bought those passes so I didn't like them being forced on me. I also don't like having to eat at the hotel but the food was decent at the pub. If you can get the hotel for a good price and know upfront about the tourist tax then you can assess whether it's worth it. I won't stay at a hotel in Blue Moutain with that outrageous tourist tax now. Everything is overpriced there. If you go on a nice weekend you might get your money's worth but you never know what to expect with the weather.

Liked: The rooms were comfortable the housekeeping staff were excellent. Beautiful location liked the snack bar they had for the dance competition
Disliked: No elevator to the conference rooms downstairs. Carrying heavy bags up and down was awkward. Only 2 elevators for the hotel which wasn't an issue until it got busy . So at times you had to wait what it seemed like forever for one to come
