Blanch House

Would stay again but would book with them direct.

Liked: The staff, location and the hotel itself were all excellent.
Disliked: The fact that the full cost of the stay was taken from my bank on Monday and when I arrived on Thursday was told I had to pay again as the payment on Monday was from Booking.com (the reference on the pending transfer says Blanch House) people, and I still have not received the money back yet. Very angry at this in fact.

Liked: Great location and lovely, friendly staff (special shout-out to Valentina who works hard at breakfast and cleaning rooms).
Disliked: The hotel did not live up to the photos on the website. It felt very "tired" and in need of renovating and redecorating. The carpets are old and dirty and the wallpaper in our room felt very dated. It's missing small, easy details like candles, good music (not cheesy jazz at breakfast), maybe a welcome drink on arrival. The flower was dead on our breakfast table. We had to ask for jam and yogurt and our room keys were broken each time we tried to use them. Blanch House has such potential, but it needs love.

Liked: The warm, friendly welcome and referring to me by name.The interior decor was tastefully presented.I felt very comfortable and relaxed.
Disliked: On arrival, exterior views of properties lining the street made me slightly anxious. Some needed a bit of TLC. However, I was more than happy when 'Yanni' opened the door to welcome me in .

Liked: Super clean, smart and modern. Breakfast lovely and everyone who work at the hotel is lovely and very tentative. Got a call a few days before arrival to ensure all our needs were met. Excellent service

Disliked: Rooms quite small, but well designed
