Very disappointing, expensive for service...

Liked: The en suite shower was excellent.
Disliked: Whole establishment somewhat tired and run down in appearance. Not what I would call an hotel; much more a pub with rooms. Ability to check in substantially delayed due to room not being ready as anticipated. Said would phone us when room was ready but didn’t. Landlord, friendly but somewhat laissez-faire in attitude, subsequently explained delay was due to staff problems and a recent no-show. Apologetic and offered free drink at bar in recompense. View from room windows, triple aspect, was far from attractive. One of the twin beds needed to have linen changed as had obviously been ‘used’. Loo had not been thoroughly cleaned - yuk! No spare loo roll. Did not dine in. Only had continental breakfast but croissants left a lot to be desired in terms of freshness. All in all not what was expected and horrendously overpriced at £270 for a twin room for one night.

Liked: Johnny has a great property Blackfriars was a fantastic place to stay for our group of 4The rooms are beautifully done very cozy and comfortable The restaurant downstairs was also very nicely decorated… in a funky wayFood and ale was great!Loved our stay Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Beautiful stay that felt like...

Liked: Friendly staff, met head chef manager and waitstaff went out of their way to make out visit to Inverness exceptional! Book early as place fills up-Sunday supper extra special after a long 12 hour tour to Isle of Skye!!

Over priced for what’s on...

Liked: Nice bedroom comfortable bed. Great shower.
Disliked: This is a nice pub with rooms not a hotel. For what we got I felt it was over priced. Breakfast also was a bit disappointing also.

Liked: Room and bathroom were very good. It wasAll super clean. Staff were lovely to us and the dog. Great location, large old graveyard nearby for a nice peaceful walk and for the dog to get some exercise.
Disliked: It’s fine and there are only minor things. Check-in was a bit chaotic with a wee mishap with someone else being given in error our room and they were then moved, but that didn’t bother us, we were fine to wait. I was surprised that the ball of ice cream that accompanied the desert was not a ball, it was a scraped out of the container lumpy bit of ice cream which was at odds with the carefully arranged cushions and welcomeBasket of tea and biscuits in the bedroom. It’s like two different people are running things. Huge potential for this place to be absolutely super.

Great centre location near to...

Liked: The rooms were lovely and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in.
Disliked: Lots of stairs to get to the top floor which with heavy suitcases would be a struggle for some people.
