Liked: The Black Swan is a lovely boutique hotel. Its location just outside of Rotorua was a big plus for us, as the town is very busy. In contrast the Black Swan is an oasis of calm. The staff were all OUTSTANDING. So thoughtful and kind in every way. The breakfasts were delicious (we did not eat dinner there, but heard good things from other guests). We stayed in one of the premium rooms, and I felt it was well worth the extra money, with an amazing view.The grounds are compact but feature some lovely statuary, as well as a pool that we used every day, even in April. In the grotto above are two hot tubs, perfection! Facing the grounds is a solarium stocked with books, coffee, towels for the pool, a really nice room.

Wonderful stay

Liked: We had such a great stay at the Black Swan! The staff gave us a really warm welcome, and our room was super clean and just what we expected. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was spot on. The gardens were beautiful, the lake view was amazing, and it was so cool to see black swans up close. We’d definitely love to come back!
