It was a really bad...
Disliked: The room was dirty cups half filled use coffee stains on bedding walls with cracks in it stuck together with tape no TV remote not worth the 180 pound I paid for it i have photos to back this up as well

Not the best experience

Disliked: Well the full price was taken 3 days prior and on arrival at check in the barman advised still 58 to pay , then on top of that our friends room had been cancelled because of a flood , without any warning and they have to await a refund , we kindly allowed them to stay in our room , which the barman only just agreed to , just as well we had a family room , not the greatest experience at all

Communication would have avoided unnecessary...
Liked: Bedding and towels were clean and tea making facilities good.
Disliked: We stayed as a group of four and prepaid for three rooms as part of a cycling tour. In the two weeks leading up to our stay, I reached out several times via email and messaging to confirm whether secure overnight storage for our bicycles would be available. I also tried calling, but the phone was never answered. Unfortunately, I received no direct response—only about 10 automated messages with standard check-in details.On arrival, it was made clear they would not offer any storage options for our bikes—not in the garden, alleyway, or rooms. After a 7-hour ride, this was both disappointing and frustrating. Had I known, I could have made alternate storage arrangements elsewhere.I don’t typically write negative reviews—in fact, this is my first on Booking.com—but the lack of communication and the “take it or leave it” attitude left a poor impression. It didn’t feel like guest needs were a priority. The reception duties were handled by the bar staff—which is ok—but there appeared to be no on-site management or meaningful support.While the room was clean, it was in noticeable disrepair, and there was no soap provided in any of the shared bathrooms. We didn't want to use the bar and left as soon as we could in the morning. I think very poor (2) would be a bit cruel but I would not recommendOverall, we didn’t feel valued as guests, and the experience fell short of expectations.

Liked: It was straightforward to check in & out. Also to come & go from the property with a key we were given. The beds were okay compared to everything else, being relatively comfortable & clean. Handy for shops & parking location wise.
Disliked: Both toilets were dirty, which was immediately off putting. The toilets and a bathroom are shared, but we knew this when we booked.The windows were old & grubby, and everything was a little tired & threadbare. The accommodation would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues since there are a steep set of stairs to get upstairs. I was prompted several times online for more information after booking, not sure why when nothing else was asked for by staff. Perhaps this was more relevant for travellers from abroad.
