Comfortable stay in a nice...

Liked: Very friendly staff. Original features retained. Nice and warm room. Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Hotel was quite quiet when we were there and the breakfast room could have been slightly warmer in the morning.

Poor room value in comparison...

Liked: The staff were very good. Nothing was too much trouble.but they were working in a very dated hotel. We felt sorry for them trying to excuse their hotel.
Disliked: Mattresses were well past their sell by. Springs poking through. First night awful. Young lady on reception arranged a room swap. Slightly better bed. Heating? So old fashioned ( built in 1800 hundreds) room cold. Extractor in bathroom didn't work. Small loft hatch in bathroom lifting and banging with wind outside. No rails for towels in bathroom. Breakfast was very good. No bar in hotel had to walk outside to adjacent Inn for drinks and food. Whole hotel needed a full refurbishment. Stay there again???? NO. NO.
