Beautiful hotel with rough edges

Liked: Beautuful restored and historical building in wonderful community of Coral Gables.
Disliked: The pool floor was very rough and damaged my pool shoesThere was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which left a musty oder. Service was not good in the restaurant, which was very slow and not attentiveI emailed the hotel on my 2nd day, and they never responded to my concernsThis was a birthday stay, which I communicated to the hotel via email and phone before our arrival and at checkin, but NO acconolment from hotel stay during our 3 day stay.

Overall a pleasant and beautiful...

Liked: Other than our initial check-in experience. The staff was courteous and very helpful.Gym was nice, restaurants were good, service was good. Brunch was outstanding!
Disliked: Pool chairs should be given out by the pool staff and not left for guest to “claim” in the morning. This is not typical for other 5 star hotels. Bathrooms with tubs and shower curtains are also not seen at upscale hotels and give a motel like feel to the bedrooms.
