Decent Place

Liked: Good location close to public transit, some shops, 30 min walk to Harbor Bridge and Opera House. Generally quiet places and all the staff and other residents were very nice.
Disliked: Very dirty. The bathrooms were super super filthy and it’s kinda gross that they don’t wash the blankets between residents.

Some staff really dislike Asians

Liked: Location is good, some staff is friendly.
Disliked: There’s a female staff, who’s very rude. The first time I lived in this place, when I asked for extra blanket for the cold weather, she was very unwilling to help. She always had the unhappy face when I talked to her. I once thought that she’s just has the natural look which looks inpatient, but then I found she was quite friendly to other people. I don’t know what did I do to mess her up. But as a customer here, I believe I deserve an equal treat as others. I don’t know if she’s just unfriendly to Asians because just two days ago I also witnessed she was rude to other Asians. I like this place because of most of the other staff were quite friendly so I always book the 2-bed female dormitory here. But recently I booked a double room with my boyfriend, although the price is almost as high as Great southern hotel or other hotels nearby, but I still chose this place because of the good impression I had about this place before. But today, after I checked out, this rude lady came to find me and asked, “Can I talk to you?” And then led me to reception. She asked me if I had put any pads on the toilet floor. I said yes because the dustbin was full. She said, “Please show some respect to our staff. They are not here to clean your rubbish.” I was like, what? So what were they paid for? I didn’t make my room dirty, I just left some tissue and pads near the toilet floor when the dustbin ( which was quite small) was full! If I don’t have the right to do this then please write this down said no tissues on the floor! Also, I want to send this back to yourself, please show some respect to your customer! If you are not willing to clean please give up your cleaner job! I didn’t throw any rubbish in any place as I’m a well-educated person, and no other hotels ever accuse me of doing that! If the way I left some tissues on the floor made you feel disrespectful, then the way you guys treat Asians and a regular customer made me think you are disrespectful, either!

Liked: Close to Central Train Station. The facilities are well maintained. The dorm rooms are big and has wider space to move around.
Disliked: There's no privacy curtain, which should be considered for dorms.
